Join us for the next 2nd Thursday of the month mixer to connect people interested in strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education.

This event is open to educators, tech professionals, engineers and anyone else interested in STEM education. It's an opportunity to network and connect with others who are working at the intersection of design, learning and technology for education. 

Guest Speaker:

Paolo Younse - Member of Technical Staff for the Robotic Hardware Systems Group at the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab

Paulo's experience resides in mechanical design, robotics, machine vision, and unmanned underwater vehicles. He also has extensive community service experience, both locally and internationally. He's done STEM outreach during his travels abroad, most recently in Malaysia, Tanzania and Latin America, where he helped set up space camps for science students and introduced interactive learning of the solar systems to orphanages.

Paulo has also mentored students and led professionals from various backgrounds with hands-on activities to introduce students to different career paths. Additionally, he has been long involved with the Pasadena Jaycees. He was honored with the Outstanding Young California award in 2008 for his leadership and the impact he's made in Pasadena and community at large.

Paulo will be sharing many of these stories with us and providing a professional's perspective on getting involved in STEM outreach projects. He will definitely awe and inspire us with his enthusiasm and adventures, from the Arctic to the classroom!
